About

It all began in 2005, when Rick Carlson and Shelley Ourada bought their first truck — a Mitsubishi Fuso — and Shelley quit her job. The Carlsons saw opportunity in the specialty construction trade and set out to embed their personal values into a business.

Soon, the value-driven formula began paying off. Inland hired the best installation crews and then supported them well. Clients liked the way the jobs got done on time and on budget, and soon larger and more complex jobs came our way.

Today, Inland and our highly-skilled teams are honored to work on some of the area’s most prestigious commercial projects. After more than a decade, Inland is still family owned and proud that our values continue to help us maintain our focus on a job well done all day, every day.

Our Team

Each member of our installation team cut their teeth in the Pacific Northwest, a region known for a climate that shows no mercy when it comes to water protection. Our teams have seen countless variations in job sites and project challenges, and have been with us for up to 11 years. They are the absolute best crew in the business.

We train, we support, and we place emphasis on personal safety at all times. We received the Associated General Contractors of Washington award for safety in 2016 for Top EMR and As Low as You can Go award and have never had a workman’s compensation claim. Ever.

We practice intentional training, and treat our crews like the most important assets we have – because they are. In return, they give us their best every day, and never fail to get a compliment during their time on the job.

Unique Culture

At Inland, we practice and cultivate a culture of individual responsibility and accountability. It’s an old fashioned value set that we dusted off and made the core of our company. Simply stated, if anyone at Inland Waterproofing finds a better way to do something, we listen. Odds are, it will make us all better and more efficient. It also empowers individual team members, knowing they can contribute more than their skilled hands and strong backs.

Testimonials

PCL CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, INC.

"PCL Construction would like to recognize Inland Waterproofing as “Quality Sub of the Month” on the Tower 12 Apartments project for the month of August 2015. PCL’s quality vision statement is to “Provide a quality product that exceeds expectations the first time every time.” It is only with the help of exceptional subcontractors such as Inland Waterproofing Services that PCL can realize this vision throughout an entire project’s duration.

Inland Waterproofing Services displayed superior quality during the month of August by:
• Passing (5) five straight consultant inspections with no action items
• Quickly repairing any damaged work caused by other trades
• Maintaining a strict installation schedule; staying ahead of other trades

PCL Construction would like to formally show its appreciation and make it known that your hard work and dedication to providing an exceptional product to our client during the month of August 2015 has not been overlooked. We look forward to working side-by-side with you to bring this project to completion with the highest level of quality, and would like to once again thank you for your efforts."

Walsh Construction Co.

"Over the past 5+ years I’ve had the pleasure of working with Inland Waterproofing on 3 projects. Each project varied in degrees of difficulty and challenges, but each time Inland far exceeded expectations from assisting with Value Engineering ideas that didn’t compromise the integrity of the waterproofing intent, QA/QC detailing with Building Envelope Coordination, Coordinating with Manufacturers, Prompt pricing of Change Orders, Scheduling (even when given less than appropriate notice worked to make our deadlines) and Staff to support our needs.

Professional from start to finish! Rick, Shelley, and support staff (both field and office) are phenomenal. Always my first call for quotes and questions I don’t have the expertise on as I know I’ll receive fair and accurate information."

The success of the project is directly related to the commitment and efforts of people like you. As I walk through the building on my last visit, the quality of the work stands out and is a testimony to you, your staff, and your crew’s dedication to building a first-class product.

On behalf of myself, Bill Bouten, Chris Webb, and the rest of the staff at Bouten Construction Company, we thank you very much for your efforts on this project. We look forward to working with you on future projects."
